Annual Exhibition and new season
East Sutherland Camera Club starts its new 2015-16 season with our Annual Exhibition beginning on Monday 24 August in Brora library. The exhibition will be open during normal library opening hours for two weeks until Friday 4 September. It will feature the best of the Members’ work from the 2014-15 season including the top 12 entries in each of the Colour, Monochrome and Creative classes of the year’s monthly competitions. We also entered 10 images into the annual Highland Challenge, a competition between all the clubs in the north Highlands, and these will also be on display. All told it should be an exciting and interesting display of the photographic art and well worth dropping in to see.

On Tuesday 8 September at 7pm the Club’s season of regular twice monthly meetings in the Brora Community Centre gets off to a freezing start. Guest speaker is Cherry Alexander of Arctic Photo, based in Ardgay. With over 40 years of experience of Arctic and Antarctic regions Cherry is a winner of the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition and has a superb photographic collection on Antarctica which she will share with the Club. This is truly a not to be missed evening.

New members are always welcome and so, if you enjoy taking photographs and want to make the most of your camera why not come along? The programme has an interesting combination of visiting speakers, workshop sessions and friendly competitions; it is designed to cater for all abilities. Above all it provides a sociable atmosphere where like-minded people can share their interest in photography. Full details can be found by clicking on Programme in the menu above.
